Pam Castañon...Intimidation
Today I was assigned to work at A press with my friends Kit Davidson and Art Felton. Again, everytime our press stops, Pam Castañon is always at look to us and trying to make us work harder by giving us order to help others especially me. Although, I know it is unnecessary for the guys working on C press to help them for they've got enough people, I still follow Pam C.'s order for respect.
In fact John Weiner told me they can handle it but still I insist to pull the skid to the south patio. Actually they have Jose Estrada as the 4th guy and the one who is assigned to pull the skids. So they have more than enough people on their press.
This time Jose asked me I better help the guys on D press. So for the purpose of team work I went to D press and I noticed there are only 2 guys working there. So I went to D press and even joined them stacking down the bundles for fairness.
So when its time to go to lunch at 9:45 AM Pam C told me why I am working on D press. I told her, Jose told me I better helped the guys on D press and for the purpose of teamwork and dividing the workforce to make it easier for everybody its only fair that I worked on D because they got only2 guys working there. I dont know what kind of leadership Pam Castanon has. She sould know the meaning of initiative.
She should know that I am assigned on A press and doing my job accordingly and I am just rendering a helping hand! It's only HELP and it is not my job assignment for that shift!
The bottomline is because I am union-supporter she always give me hardtime . She should know as a worker we have the the right to a workplace free of harassment and intimidation.
She is trying to intimidate me by saying "Is Jose the Boss?...she told me "she is the boss". And even told her I will write her and told me "Ya you could write me that I am your Boss!"
This not only the first time she told me that. This attitude makes her unprofessional and uneducated and doesn't deserved her job as a supervisor.
Since the union came in last year, one after another the dirty-tricks emerge revealing Union Tribune's ruthless campaign against workers' rights. When UT employees attempt to stand up for themselves and try to form a union, we face threats, propaganda, discrimination, intimidation, harassment and even firings. It's wrong, and it's got to stop now!!!AND IT IS AGAINST THE LAW!!!
